Topman Design

The next project.

There is a little a snippet of what was experienced at LFW with Topman Design at the forefront. I think that I am really going to enjoy this project! Whilst working in partnership with our FCP team the objective is to devise Communication Strategy and Brand Strategy to compliment a collection designed by the Fashion Design team.
This project gives us the chance to interact with other people on the FCP course which I quite like. Right enough from me. DVC here I come!!

Kickers

So Kickers. We presented yesterday. Everything went well! Confidence is definitely a lot better than previous times.
We still have plenty to be doing with Kickers; summary and portfolio is the beginning.
Ahhh next on the agenda...
Topman Design!!
I can't wait to begin.

So whats next?

So Kickers?

Whats next for the group?

Well. On Thursday we are presenting to a number of representatives from the Pentland Group. After my group received the Fashion Communication and Promotions presentation and ideas, it was then our chance to form our own presentation to generate communication objectives. We have been given a budget to stick to and promote the denim Kick-Hi shoe.

In Today I'm Wearing.

I like Alexa
Alexa Chung is a new love. Her face is popping up more & more recently. I think she is so cool and such a beauty.
These pictures are taken from her blog page for Vogue to coincide with the March issue to which she is the cover! Anyway I selected 3 outfits from her day 4, 9 and 11 looks. I love them. This day 4. Amazing.
I like her. Finally I'm home for the weekend and I managed to be united with my Vogue March issue. Happy. Apologies for the blurred pictures.

Day 4
Ahh I can't wait for the summer.
I love her black bag. Remind me of mine.
<3

Day 9
This outfit. Amazing.
I love the coat & Chung's booties.

Day 11
I love Alexa's vintage Levi's high waisted shorts.
So cute. I want some?

Alexander McQueen

Alexander McQueen Spring/ Summer 2010 Ready-To-Wear, NYC.
16th March, 1969 - 11th February, 2010
The world has lost one of its finest designers!

Ahhhhh!

I have been so busy recently time is slipping away very quickly. I keep leaving my blog behind. That will all change. My Paris blog however has been taking all the attention. I will catch up later with everything that has been occurring at uni recently. Fun fun!! So so busy though. X

Bazaar!

Harper's Bazaar.
March 2010.
Cindy Crawford.

Absolutely amazing!

I love her shoes.

This is my favourite photograph.

I love the tights.

I've been wanting a pair like these for ages.

First purchase of Harper's Bazaar in at least a year.
Seeing as my Vogue is patiently waiting back at home I thought I would make this purchase. I am so glad I have. This shoot is amazing. Cindy Crawford is nearly 44 what? Crazy. Hope I look like that when I'm older.

Cindy Crawford looks stunning in these images.
The location of the shoots and the positions Cindy is holding are so flattering.
Black is my favourite colour. I can't get enough of it.
These garments are amazing, so simple yet so sexy.

Pepe Jeans.

Ad Campaign.

March 2010.

Alexa Chung.

So fashion lady Alexa Chung takes on the new face of Pepe Jeans. Amazing. After reading the article in Vogue. This advertisement campaign is so cool and following the foot steps of celebrities like Sienna Miller & Kate Moss she looks amazing. Her cool, sexy attitude blends well with Pepe Jeans.

She is this March's cover girl. As well as having an article. She talks about the phenomenon of denim. 'Indigo Girl.' I love this article. Currently I am working on a visual essay for the second part of my course known as Design and Visual Culture. This covers the birth of denim and why denim is the widely worn textile. Its genius and fits in perfectly into my essay. Trend setter for 2010?

'Denim is a symbol of youth, sex, rebellion and, most essentially, America. Buying jeans is our first foray into American style,' Alexa Chung.

This identifies the key trends covered in my essay and was just very insightful to gain a modern opinion on the topic.
Amazing. Thanks Alexa.

Stella Stella Stella.

Vogue
March 2010.

Since January in my last post on Stella McCartney I selected this particular dress as it was my favourite. I was so happy to see it when flicking though Vogue today. Ruffles are having a strong presence within the recent catwalks. Simply love this dress.

DS in Vogue.

Vogue March 2010.

Wahey! I love this. I really liked seeing the trends on the catwalk and then follow through to magazines. DS rocks!
I love this shoot. The nature scene is so cool.

Moss to Vogue.

Vogue

March 2010.

Flicking through Vogue. Sarah's not mine. Curse the Royal Mail.

I came across this advert showing Kate Moss collection with Longchamp. Amazing. I love it. Finally.

Lara Stone for Louis Vuitton

Madonna OUT.
Lara IN.

Louis Vuitton Advertising Campaign 2010.

I love Lara. The shoot was sexy, magical, whimsical and of course luxurious.
Photographed by Stephen Meisel.
"To model the clothes, we wanted a modern, iconic, sexy beauty. It had to be Lara Stone." I love this shoot. I think Lara is far more sophisticated and well suited for Louis Vuitton.

LOVE.

LOVE MAGAZINE. Controversial?

Third edition: 'Fashion Icons.'

KATE MOSS STILL GOING STRONG.

Kate Moss is one of the eight models who represent the ideal beauty in fashion today. OMG. I love it. This also includes Naomi Campbell & Lara Stone.
"The point is that 'perfection' is not fixed, timeless or transcendent," Grand - who put Beth Ditto on the cover of the first ever issue of LOVE - explained. "It varies, as the measurements of our cover girls show."
The eight covers, photographed by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggot, will go on sale in one week's time - Monday February 8 - priced £5. This definitely be a purchase. Hopefully I will be able to find it in Paris?
I love LOVE.

Kate Moss Launch.

Kate Moss X Longchamp
Jan 2010
Launch in Paris.

What a stunner. I'm excited to see the collection. I think KM is amazing.
"As a woman with a lot of handbags, they have got to have a bit of flair, not too 'Lady', with a bit of an edge," Moss told. The collection is due to arrive February 11th. I'll have to keep my eyes pealed when in Paris.

Fantasy Face.

Couture Meets Beauty.
SS10
'True Blue'

Jean Paul Gaultier

Make-up artist Tom Pecheux used various metallic with blues, greens, yellows and purples. Both on the eyes & lips.

'In the fantasy bubble that is couture, many of the clothes are truly extra-ordinary... so it seems only fitting that the beauty inspirations should follow suit.'

Valentino on the other hand painted pale blue 'blindfolds' onto the models with a pale complexion.

Couture in Colour.

Givenchy Haute Couture.

Beauty Trend: Face

SS 2010

The combination of the glistening blue eyes with the red lips.
I love this combo.
I think the colours compliment each other making the models feature bloom.
After all blue is my favourite colour.

Choo meets Hunter.

Jimmy Choo X Hunter.
2009.
Limited Edition

“This led to our collaboration with Hunter to produce a sleek interpretation of the British classic,” Mellon said.
Personally? I'm not the biggest fan of these wellies. Separately the two brands have such a strong brand identity. Together, yes they still do. But I don't really know what it is, I'm just not attracted to them. Maybe I'm missing out?
Jo Wiley Radio 1 DJ was seen wearing them at Glastonbury, with Peaches Geldof following closely behind.
I must say. I much prefer the black ones if I were to chose.

Monday 1 February 2010

Givenchy Channels Glamour.

Givenchy.
SS10
Paris Couture Week.

Love Love Love Love.

I heart ruffles.

I'm a big fan of this collection. Growing closer to Givenchy&Riccardo Tisci.

Ruffles made a reoccurring appearance, with them over sized and flowing round a rose coloured cocktail dress. Tisci offers drama and differentiation, however the 22 piece collection manages to link and be identifiable.
The last image is AMAZING. The one gown that popped out. Potential red carpet?
A strapless sparkling sequined top with a cascading bottom. Volume.

Paris. Paris. Paris.

Check out my blog.
I created my travel blog last week.
Its getting there!
I am just writing prior to the Paris trip, documenting excitement, photographs, purchases and how ridiculously organised I am being.
I want to get the most out of the trip and I am really enthusiastic about the museums and places we are going to visit.
I love PARIS! All the girlies on the course are très excited as well as myself.
